place Description : Makhdoom Sahib is one of the most sacred shrines in Kashmir, Makhdoom Sahib Shrine is located on the southern side of Hari Parbat Hill in Srinagar. It has double storied mosque, which is built in the name of the Sufi saint Makhdoom Sahib or Hazrat Sultan(RA), placed below the attractive Mughal Fort alias the Hari Parbat Fort, is a structure with many pillars and is a rare example of Mughal architectural style.
This mosque brings out the ancient culture and archaeological values of the Mughal period. Hazrat Sultan(RA) is believed to have divine spritual powers and many devotees visit this place irrespective of their religion.
This shrine is visited by people with all faiths and is open throughout the year. Located close to the city (5 km), the shire is easily accessible to car/ taxi within 15 mins. Some adjoining attractions that one can visit include Hari Parbat Fort and Kathi Darwaza.

Winter (October to March) accounts for winters with minimum consistently well below 0°C and maximum only about 15°C. Winters are associated with heavy snowfalls. Not the best time for sightseeing and the lakes are frozen and snowfall can cause road blockages.
Summer (April to September) are ideal for sightseeing and is the peak tourist season with a maximum temperature of 30°C and a minimum well below 14°C.
Srinagar is a popular tourist destination. The summers are excellent for visiting the lakes and beautiful gardens and the natural beauty is at its pinnacle during this season. The winters on the other hand is extremely cold and freezing and not suitable for holidaying. Heavy snowfall occur during the winters but results in road blockages and disrupting road and air connectivity with rest of the country
