Weather
Sringar enjoys four seasons -spring, summer, winter and autumn. Spring arrives in March and lasts till early May marked by slow breeze and light showers. As soon as the spring season bids goodbye in May, summer sets in.Summers continue till the end of August. The summer season characterized by cool climatic conditions serves as a perfect hideaway for the sun-baked people of the plains. With September, the autumn season begins and stretches till late November. Winter spreads its wings in early-December and the entire region is covered by heavy blanket of snow.
Best time to visit Srinagar
The best time to visit Srinagar is during the months of March to October. During this period the weather conditions in Srinagar are at their best. This period covers three seasons in Srinagar i.e., spring (March-early May), summers (early May-late August) and autumn (September-November). The blossoms of spring, the cool weather of summer and the gold and red hues of autumn all provide the peak season for Kashmir travel. From December to early March is the winter season for Kashmir, when the entire valley wears a white blanket of snow. For those, who enjoy chilling weather and are interested in skiing, winter is the time to be in Kashmir.

By Air
The Srinagar Airport situated at a distance of approx. 12kms from the city provides regular flights connecting prime Indian cities like Delhi and Mumbai. Numerous private and state airlines offer smooth air access to and from linking the capital city.
By Rail
Jammu Tawi is the nearest railway station which is 293 kms away conveniently linked with all the important cities by virtue of Indian Railways.
By Road
Due to healthy network of roads and highways, Srinagar is connected smoothly with the prime cities within the State and the northern India namely Jammu, Kargil, Leh, Gulmarg, Sonamarg and Pahalgam. The National Highway 1A links it with remaining country. Luxury coaches and taxis are plying on regular basis from Jammu Tawi taking it to the capital city.
